Poolside, for the women who dont get wet....

Working back stage of San Diego Bikini Week, doing fittings and directing hair and make up you really get to see the cream of the bikini crop. I was lucky enough to work along side amazing hair and makeup artist, stylist, VJ and now designer Karina Copado who put together the stunning collection 'Poolside' for San Diego Bikini Week for the women who don't get wet. The feline inspiration for this summers collection came from the name of her new show concept The Pussy and the Cat. The show will follow Karina and her lovely spokes model Annakaren Alderete behind the scenes of fashion shows and industry events as they give you the inside scoop. We put together two shows during the event, the first was a midnight primer on the roof top of the Ivy Hotel on a star light runway in the middle of Friday nights nightlife. Our second show was poolside on the roof top of the Hard Rock Hotel, we opened the second show and got the attention of the hotel guests up in their rooms. Karina Copado's debut of 'Poolside' at San Diego Bikini Week really glistened under the sun and caught the eye of everyone at the event and left us all wondering what other sensations will come our way.

San Diego Bikini Week

San Diego Bikini Week was one crazy time! Swimwear designers from all over Southern California came together to show their lines and support the Global Flying Hospitals and The Sundance King charities as they raised funds to provide FREE Health Services through health clinics with volunteer medical professionals offering services to Americans without health care plans or health care access. MTV 3, all local news stations, mass paparazzi, video teams, and local magazine photographers were all there through out this 5 day event. The Designers showcased their fashions on local bikini babes in runway shows at premier nightlife venues such as FLUXX, Stingaree, The Ivy Rooftop, Hard Rock Hotel and Culy Warehouse, some of the hottest spots in down town San Diego. In addition to the spectacular fashion shows, the event also included bikini contests and a bikini parade down the streets of down town..am image sure to stay with the people of San Diego until the next Bikini Week!

Chanel, Chanel, Chanel!

Just a few weeks ago I had the opportunity to work with the fashions of the always unmistakable Coco Chanel. I was asked to shoot this beautiful vintage Chanel suit to be used in the sales ad for a high end consignment shop as my interview with the company. Even as the woman pulled this suit off the rack I knew it was Chanel. Anyone can make a pink and white tweed, but its that classic fit, iconic buttons and lining and the brass chain the House of CHANEL uses at the hemline on the inside of the jackets to make them hang smoothly that allows you to tell a real Chanel from a fake, even from across the room. This great little jacket was jazzed up with white sequence added through out, which worked beautify with the sequenced rosettes on the always classic and clean, woven cotton slip dress shown underneath. These pieces work seamlessly together, but yet still stand boldly on their own, acting as welcomed additions to any wardrobe.

Vegas Edition, the Final Edition of Triple Threat Thursday

The many members of Black in LA and We Are CEOs crammed the bar of O Hotel for the final edition of the industry mixer Triple Threat Thursday. The final edition was so the Vegas edition put on by Kenyetta Suggars of It Factor Events to promote the third annual Ultimate Urban Getaway at Los Vegas lake this coming weekend. Industry professionals and  entrepreneurs alike gathered for the final time to mix, mingle, network and also on this occasion to root on the LA Lakers as they took on the Boston Celtics. Even with out a victory for our side, spirits were still high as VJs Karina Copado and Annakaren Alderete interviewed everyone giving them the chance to promote their businesses. One lucky guest even won the ultimate tool to running your own business, the brand new IPhone 4. Its sad to think these events will be coming to an end. I've made so many great contacts and friends. Its just important to remember, you don't need a networking mixer to make connections. The stranger behind you in line at the market could be the key to the next big adventure of your life. Keep your eyes peel and your mind open to new people and experiences, and watch out for what will be coming next from CEOtv!

The Ultimate Fashion Industry Mixer 59

Fashion producer, Joshua James www.JoshuaJamesTalent.com, put on the ultimate fashion industry mixer at Boulevard 3 in Hollywood last week. Designers, stylists, hair and makeup, photographers, models and actresses from all over Southern California came together for this spectacular event. The goal, to bring together celebrities, top fashion professionals and aspiring artists to mix mingle and share their advice and talents was a huge hit! Karina Copado along with her assistant, Anna Karen hosted the red carpet outside while Vassy had everyone to their feet, rocking out to her new beats on the dance floor. The night was capped off with a dazzling out of this world Merlin Castel fashion show, featuring his fall 2011 line entitled, "Space Traveler on Mars". I was privileged enough to be on the behind the scenes team, making sure the production went off with out a hitch. This event was such a great opportunity for people like me who are new to the industry to make contacts and get to meet, mingle and work along side the amazing people in the world of fashion. I can not wait to see what avenues these new contacts might lead me down, and the connections I might make at 59 mixers in the future.
