The Twenty Dollar Hollar

Its amaizing what 5 FIDM girls can do in an afternoon. With just a $20 budget we were able to pull off this fablous photo shoot. Fellow stylist Cortney Costigan and I went to the FIDM scholarship store and were found some spectacular deals... stores donate their overstock and defects to the scholarship store then making it able for them to sell awesome pieces from stores like Forever21 to us for $2.50.. might have a broken zipper or a busted seam...but nothing a FIDM girl couldn't fix. So between the great deals at the scholarship store and our own closets we were able to really stretch our dollars to the max. We purchased decals and lace overlays and attached them to the basic pieces to give them edge, and a flirty feel. Through my contacts I was able to find a professional model Ruby Cruz to donate her afternoon for the cause. We had worked together on the Salon Eleven shoot a few months back, and she herself was a former FIDM girl. A fellow classmate Kelsey Miller, first time model, volunteered her cute face to the efforts and really blew us all away with her sassy chic charm and ballerina moves. Spectacular photographers Amanda Mckinnon and Lauren Whisnant came forth with SLR's in hand and really captured some beautiful moments. It really was amazing what we were able to pull off for $20. We all got to try our hand at art direction, exploring the landscape of the Fullerton Arboretum and really came up with some some great images for us to all use in our portfolios.
